Mission Statement

To implant firmly in youths the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and reverence so that they may be well adjusted, stronger and happier, and will grow to be good, clean healthy and trustworthy adults. This shall be achieved by providing supervised competitive athletic games. It shall be borne in mind at all time, in connection with the supervision of said games, that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary, and the molding of future adults is our prime importance.

History

Suburban Athletics Inc. was started in 1964 by Ernie Lehl and George Strohmeyer to give children outside the Neenah city limits an opportunity to play organized baseball. At that time, the Neenah City Baseball League was part of the Neenah Park and Recreation department. The townships included in Suburban Athletics were: Menasha, Neenah, Vinland, and Clayton.

In the first year, there were 8 teams made up of boys ages 9 - 12.

Around 1974 the league was expanded to include a girl's softball program.

During the 1980's, the league was further expanded to include Tee Ball and Coach Pitch leagues.
